Yeah, the East got better, but... MIL was playing at least 20-25% below what they should've been last season and even greater deficit in playoffs minus Giannis and Dame a couple games. Now with significant upgrades, a typical off season/camp and holes filled with length/defense on wings and significant upgrades to guys life Crowder and Beasley.. those numbers should flip. That's scary for the whole league. Giannis and Dame are still two of the best players out there - now with help and ability to rest, play D, etc. It could look a while or detergent, residual with consistent strategies/ schemes where everyone's on the same page, knows their role, etc. They stay healthy come playoffs out could look very different from last year. Especially with so many more efficient shooters spacing the floor. It's going to be a question for teams do they want Giannis running it up the gut? The pick and roll? or leave their man open for wide open looks at three? GT Jr has pls 40% when left wide open behind the arc - and can play D/disrupt and get straps to get oit in transition.. that's a serious upgrade from Beasley. Crowder was kinda useless but played some D, now Prince should be much better, Delon Wright and young guys can jump in to speed the game up. This also allows Lopez to be rim protector OR space for four three and set the pick and roll.. he and Portis don't have to fill in all the gaps in between anymore. Dame doesn't need to be an elite defender now they have coverage. Middleton can do what he does best and so on. I think a few guys in todays league would eat. Wemby, Steph, KD, Edwards, Morant, Zion, Giannis, Jokic, Dame, Tatum, Jimmy, Embiid, Luka. In fact, I think some of these guys would have been better back then. Example, Zion probably would have played like a mini Shaq or more like Barkley, but Zion would have been fine. Wemby would eat in any era, but he definitely would need to hit the weights.
